Introduction
Leg bone aching and swelling is generally caused by conditions such as stress fractures, periostitis, osteoporosis, or old injuries. Stress fractures in the lower leg result from excessive physical activity, which leads to fatigue damage in the bones; over time, this may progress to stress fractures and cause pain. Treatment requires identifying the underlying cause, and it is recommended to seek orthopedic care at a hospital as early as possible.

Leg bone soreness and swelling are generally caused by conditions such as stress fractures, periostitis, or osteoporosis.

1. Stress fracture: Stress fractures often occur in patients who walk long distances or carry heavy loads. Excessive physical activity causes cumulative fatigue damage to the leg bones, which over time may develop into stress fractures, leading to pain.

2. Periostitis: Periostitis is commonly seen in adolescents. Due to rapid growth and development and high levels of daily physical activity, inflammation within the periosteum may be triggered, resulting in pain. If left untreated, it may progress to acute suppurative osteomyelitis, causing severe pain.

3. Osteoporosis: Aching pain in the lower leg bones may also result from osteoporosis. Patients with severe osteoporosis often experience aching bone pain in the lower limbs.

Leg bone soreness and swelling may also be caused by old injuries, exposure to cold, or calcium deficiency. Treatment requires identifying the underlying cause; therefore, it is recommended to seek medical attention at an orthopedic department in a hospital as early as possible.
