Stye without pus formation but with swelling
Stye without a pus head but with swelling may be caused by an early-stage stye, which can generally be treated with medication or physical therapy.
I. Cause
This condition may result from an early-stage stye, in which the sebaceous glands at the edge of the eyelid or meibomian glands become infected with Staphylococcus aureus. At this stage, an abscess has not yet formed, leading to eyelid congestion and swelling.
II. Treatment
1. Medication
Under medical guidance, patients may use medications such as levofloxacin eye drops, chlortetracycline eye ointment, or tobramycin eye drops to help reduce inflammation and promote recovery.
2. Physical Therapy
Under professional medical supervision, ultrashort wave physical therapy may also be chosen to accelerate the absorption of local infiltration and induration, promote abscess formation, and prevent further spread of infection.
When experiencing a stye that is swollen but lacks a pus head, it is recommended to seek timely medical attention to avoid delayed treatment.
