Introduction
There are various causes of pain inside the back. Depending on the underlying cause and clinical features, individuals can seek treatment at hospital departments such as orthopedics, dermatology, thoracic surgery, neurology, or rheumatology and immunology. It is recommended to undergo thorough examinations under a doctor's guidance to identify the exact cause, receive proper treatment to promote recovery, and prevent delayed diagnosis that could increase treatment difficulty.

Back pain is usually treated in departments such as orthopedics, dermatology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, and rheumatology and immunology at hospitals. It is recommended to undergo detailed examinations under a doctor's guidance.

  1. Orthopedics

If back pain is suspected to be caused by fractures, lumbar muscle strain, fasciitis, or similar conditions, patients can visit the orthopedic department of a hospital. Specific causes of pain can be identified through examinations such as X-ray or CT scans.

  2. Dermatology

If back pain results from soft tissue inflammation due to viral infections like herpes zoster (shingles), patients should visit the dermatology department. Tests such as complete blood count and viral culture can help confirm the diagnosis.

  3. Cardiothoracic Surgery

When back pain is caused by conditions such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or costochondritis affecting muscles, fascia, and soft tissues, patients should seek care in the cardiothoracic surgery department. Diagnostic tools like chest CT or chest MRI can clarify the condition, enabling prompt treatment.

  4. Neurology

If the pain is related to abnormalities in nervous system function, patients should see a neurologist for professional evaluation, advice, and diagnosis.

  5. Rheumatology and Immunology

In some patients, back pain may be associated with rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis. In such cases, consultation and treatment should be sought in the rheumatology and immunology department. Evaluation and management can be based on specific symptoms, physical signs, and relevant test results.

It is recommended that individuals experiencing any of the above conditions seek timely medical care and actively pursue treatment under a doctor’s guidance to avoid delays in diagnosis and therapy.
