Introduction
Acute urticaria patients should avoid certain foods and medications. During treatment, it is not recommended to consume spicy or irritating foods, beef, mutton, or to smoke or drink alcohol, as these may interfere with the control of acute urticaria. Medications that can trigger urticaria include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), penicillin-class antibiotics, and various vaccines; exposure to these should be avoided during an outbreak to prevent worsening of symptoms.

In general, patients with acute urticaria should avoid alcoholic beverages, spicy foods, and seafood. The specific reasons are as follows:

1. Alcoholic Beverages

Alcohol can exacerbate the symptoms of urticaria, increasing skin itching and swelling. In addition, alcohol has a negative impact on the body's immune system, raising the risk of urticaria flare-ups.

2. Spicy Foods

Spicy foods such as chili peppers and mustard can further irritate the skin, causing itching and discomfort, thereby worsening urticaria symptoms.

3. Seafood

Some patients with acute urticaria may be allergic to seafood, including shrimp, crab, and shellfish. Consuming these foods can trigger allergic reactions and intensify symptoms.

Besides the above, chocolate and coffee should also be avoided. These contain caffeine, which increases metabolic rate and heart rate, potentially aggravating urticaria symptoms. If symptoms are severe, prompt medical attention is recommended to prevent disease progression.
