Introduction
Medically, low-grade fever is referred to as low fever. In general, low fever accompanied by redness and swelling of the tonsils may be caused by pathological conditions such as acute tonsillitis due to viral infection, bacterial tonsillitis, or acute tonsillitis secondary to upper respiratory tract infection. If any discomfort occurs, patients are advised to seek immediate medical attention to avoid delaying treatment and prevent serious complications.

Generally, low-grade fever and redness and swelling of the tonsils are common symptoms of certain diseases, possibly caused by factors such as laryngitis, tonsillitis, or influenza. Specific analyses are as follows:

  1. Laryngitis

Laryngitis is an inflammation of the larynx caused by bacterial or viral infection. Symptoms include sore throat, inflamed larynx, red and swollen tonsils, low-grade fever, cough, and dry throat. Under a doctor's guidance, patients may take medications such as Penicillin V Potassium Tablets or Metronidazole Tablets to relieve symptoms.

  2. Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is usually caused by bacterial or viral infections. Symptoms include red and swollen tonsils, sore throat, low-grade fever, cough, and dry throat. Patients may follow medical advice to use medications such as Cefuroxime Axetil Capsules or Amoxicillin Capsules to alleviate symptoms.

  3. Influenza

Influenza is a respiratory illness caused by infection with the influenza virus. Common symptoms include low-grade fever, sore throat, cough, headache, muscle pain, and fatigue. Patients may follow medical advice to take medications such as Paracetamol Tablets or Ibuprofen Capsules for treatment.

Besides the above common causes, these symptoms could also be due to rubella, mumps, pertussis, or other conditions. It is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital to determine the exact cause and receive targeted treatment.
