Introduction
In general, sudden back pain in young people may be caused by trauma, excessive fatigue, neurological factors, periarthritis of the shoulder, or fasciitis. Young individuals often engage in intense physical activities; if such activities result in strain or twisting injuries to the above-mentioned areas, it may lead to muscle or bone-related injuries, thereby causing localized pain.

Generally, sudden back pain in young people may be caused by trauma, overexertion, neurological factors, shoulder periarthritis (pericapsulitis), fasciitis, and other factors. A detailed analysis is as follows:

1. Trauma

Young people often engage in vigorous activities. If these activities result in strain, twisting, or direct impact to the back area, it may lead to muscle or bone injury, causing localized pain. It is important to stop physical activity immediately, rest in bed, apply cold compresses early to reduce swelling, and use warm compresses later to promote blood circulation and resolve bruising.

2. Overexertion

Excessive fatigue—such as from intense chest or back workouts—can lead to a buildup of lactic acid within the muscles, resulting in pain. Adequate rest should be ensured in daily life, and excessive back loading should be avoided. Applying heat therapy and massage to the back can help improve local blood circulation and relieve discomfort.

3. Neurological Factors

Sudden back pain is commonly associated with nerve issues. For example, compression or irritation of nerves supplying the back may cause sharp, electric shock-like pain. This type of pain is usually transient and short-lived. In cases of severe pain, medications such as diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets or celecoxib capsules may be taken under medical guidance. Regular use of drugs like oryzanol tablets or vitamin B complex tablets may also be helpful.

4. Shoulder Periarthritis (Pericapsulitis)

If a patient has shoulder periarthritis, acute inflammatory changes occur in the tissues around the shoulder joint, possibly leading to fluid exudation and edema, which can cause severe back pain. Medications such as eperisone hydrochloride tablets or etoricoxib tablets may be used under a doctor’s supervision to effectively reduce inflammation.

5. Fasciitis

If fasciitis is present, the fascial tissue may be irritated by aseptic inflammation, potentially causing back pain similar to that described above. Treatment under medical guidance with medications such as celecoxib capsules or diclofenac sodium tablets can effectively reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

In addition to the above causes, pleurisy should also be considered as a possible factor. It is important to get adequate rest and maintain proper daily body care. If the pain is severe, prompt medical attention is necessary to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.
