Introduction
Generally speaking, there are no absolute dietary restrictions when suffering from gum inflammation. However, it is not recommended to consume foods such as chili peppers, ice pops, nuts, acidic fruits, and fried balls. Additionally, it's best to avoid eating potato chips, betel nuts, and similar items during gum inflammation. At the same time, maintaining good oral hygiene in daily life is important, including rinsing your mouth promptly after meals.

Generally speaking, there are no absolute dietary restrictions when gums are inflamed. However, it is not recommended to consume foods such as chili peppers, ice pops, nuts, acidic fruits, fried meatballs, etc. Detailed explanations are as follows:

1. Chili Peppers

Chili peppers are spicy and stimulating foods containing capsaicin. When they come into contact with inflamed gums, they directly irritate the mucous membranes, worsening symptoms such as redness, swelling, and pain. They may also trigger localized spread of inflammation, which is unfavorable for resolving the inflammation. Therefore, consumption is not advised.

2. Ice Pops

Ice pops are extremely cold and considered cooling in nature. Eating them can cause a cold stimulus to already inflamed gums, leading to constriction of blood vessels in the gums, possibly triggering brief sharp pain. This may also impair local blood circulation in the gums and delay healing of the inflammation. Hence, it's best to avoid consuming them.

3. Nuts

Nuts such as walnuts and almonds are hard in texture. During chewing, they may rub against inflamed gum tissue, potentially causing damage to the gum mucosa, exacerbating bleeding and pain, or even leading to secondary infection, all of which hinder gum recovery. Thus, they are unsuitable for consumption.

4. Acidic Fruits

Acidic fruits like lemons and oranges contain high levels of organic acids. These acids can irritate the already inflamed gum tissue, possibly causing soreness, disrupting the local pH balance of the gums, increasing the risk of bacterial growth, and negatively affecting control of the inflammation. Therefore, these fruits should be consumed as little as possible.

5. Fried Meatballs

Fried meatballs are deep-fried foods with a crispy, hard exterior. While chewing, they may scratch or irritate the gums. Additionally, these foods are high in fat, and their consumption may affect metabolism and reduce immunity, both of which are detrimental to resolving gum inflammation. Therefore, they should be avoided.

In addition, it is also advisable to avoid foods such as potato chips and betel nuts during gum inflammation. Furthermore, maintaining good oral hygiene in daily life is important—rinsing the mouth after meals, and avoiding aggressive brushing with hard-bristled toothbrushes.
