How to Determine Fetal Sex from Nuchal Translucency (NT) Data
Disease description:
I’ve been pregnant for over a month. I heard that the nuchal translucency (NT) scan can reveal the baby’s sex—how can fetal sex be determined from NT measurements?
Data obtained from nuchal translucency (NT) screening generally cannot accurately determine fetal sex, and fetal sex determination during pregnancy is also illegal. NT screening is performed around weeks 11–13 of gestation to measure the thickness of the nuchal translucency—the fluid-filled space at the back of the fetal neck—to assess whether the fetus may have developmental abnormalities.
