Uveitis, also known as iridocyclitis, is an inflammation of the uveal tract within the eye. Typical clinical manifestations include redness of the eye, eye pain, and blurred vision. Uveitis is one of the common causes of blindness. Severe uveitis may lead to complications such as cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal detachment. Moreover, uveitis not only tends to recur but can also result in severe visual impairment.
