Disease description:

Today I noticed many papules appearing on my skin, but yesterday everything was fine. My husband said it might be a skin infection caused by HPV virus. I wonder what symptoms it could have?

HPV is a virus that can cause proliferative lesions of the skin and mucous membranes. After infection, it may lead to the appearance of skin warts, which can develop on any part of the body—such as the face, back of the hands, or arms—and vary in form, including flat warts and common warts. Flat warts are usually small, about the size of a millet grain, with a smooth surface and color similar to that of normal skin. Common warts, on the other hand, may gradually enlarge, have a rough surface, feel hard in texture, and tend to bleed easily when rubbed. HPV infection can also cause genital warts, which commonly occur around the genital and anal areas. These initially appear as papules and gradually increase in number, forming cauliflower-like growths. Although these symptoms may seem mild, they are actually the result of HPV replication and proliferation within skin cells. If any such skin changes are noticed, prompt medical consultation is recommended for professional diagnosis and treatment.
