Symptoms of HPV infection
Disease description:
Recently, I've been experiencing severe itching in the external genital area, along with bleeding during intercourse. My doctor said it's due to an HPV infection. I would like to know what symptoms can occur after being infected with HPV?
Patients infected with the HPV virus may not immediately exhibit obvious symptoms in the early stages of infection, regardless of whether it is a high-risk or low-risk type. As the virus gradually progresses, individuals with high-risk HPV infection may experience subtle changes. They might have contact bleeding after sexual intercourse or notice an increase in vaginal discharge during daily life. Although these symptoms are non-specific, they could be warning signs from the body. For patients with low-risk HPV infection, abnormal white growths may appear around the external genitalia, presenting as cauliflower-like or papillary lesions, possibly accompanied by discomfort such as genital itching or burning. The appearance of any of these symptoms should raise patient awareness and prompt timely medical consultation.
