Disease description:

I've been noticing something off with my child's hand these past couple of days. After a hospital examination, it was diagnosed as injury to the ulnar nerve, radial nerve, and median nerve. What are the symptoms of ulnar, radial, and median nerve injuries?

Dr. Guan Yanlei
Patients with injuries to the ulnar, radial, and median nerves typically experience sensory disturbances, claw hand deformity, wrist drop, and other symptoms. The hand is primarily innervated by the median, ulnar, and radial nerves. Damage to each of these three major nerves results in distinct symptoms: median nerve injury leads to sensory disturbances; ulnar nerve injury causes claw hand deformity; and radial nerve injury manifests as the characteristic wrist drop. Regardless of the type of nerve injury, prompt medical attention is essential to restore hand function as early as possible.
