What causes sudden lower back pain?
Why does my lower back suddenly hurt when I get up from sleep?

Sudden lower back pain may be caused by various factors:
1. Poor posture or incorrect body position: Maintaining incorrect posture for prolonged periods, such as sitting for long durations or working with a bent back, can place pressure and strain on the lower back, leading to sudden back pain.
2. Muscle fatigue or overuse: Maintaining the same posture for extended periods, excessive exercise, or strenuous activities can cause fatigue in the lower back muscles, subsequently triggering pain.
3. Mild strain or sprain: Sudden twisting movements, incorrect posture when lifting heavy objects, or inadvertent physical activity can cause minor strains or sprains of the soft tissues in the lower back, which are common causes of sudden back pain.
4. Herniated disc: When an intervertebral disc ruptures due to aging, injury, or other factors, the inner nucleus pulposus material may compress nerve roots, causing severe lower back pain and even radiating pain down the legs.
5. Infection: Infectious diseases affecting the spine or pelvic region, such as spinal tuberculosis, although relatively rare, can also be a cause of lower back pain.
