Causes of Dull Pain in the Left Upper Back Area
I have been experiencing a dull ache in my left lower back for the past few days, which is quite uncomfortable. I don't have any medication at home. I would like to know what could be causing the persistent dull pain in my left lower back?

Dull pain in the left posterior waist area may be caused by various factors, commonly including:
1. Muscle or soft tissue injury: Overuse, improper exercise, or poor posture may lead to muscle strain or sprain.
2. Kidney problems: Conditions such as left urinary tract infection, stones, or tumors can cause dull pain on the left side of the waist and may be accompanied by positive urine occult blood. The preferred diagnostic test is a urinary system color ultrasound.
3. Digestive system issues: Conditions like colitis or spleen diseases may also cause pain in the left waist area.
4. Nerve compression: Sciatica or compression of lumbar nerve roots may present as dull waist pain.
5. Gynecological diseases: Conditions such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and gynecological tumors like uterine fibroids and ovarian tumors may also cause dull back pain.
6. Spinal problems: Disc herniation, lumbar joint disorders, and lumbar muscle strain can all cause pain, especially in individuals who maintain the same posture for prolonged periods.
A comprehensive examination is necessary to determine the cause of dull pain in the left posterior waist area and to guide further treatment. If concerned, please consult a relevant physician.
