Water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica) is slightly cold in nature and rich in dietary fiber. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and I personally enjoy eating it often. Foods that should not be consumed with water spinach:

1. Calcium-rich foods: Water spinach should not be eaten with high-calcium foods, because the oxalic acid in water spinach may bind with calcium in milk, affecting calcium absorption. Therefore, it is not recommended to consume large amounts of high-calcium foods such as milk and tofu simultaneously.

2. Cold-natured foods: According to traditional Chinese medicine, water spinach is cool in nature. If consumed together with other cold-natured foods such as bitter melon, cucumber, and watermelon, it may increase internal coldness, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. Individuals with cold deficiency of the spleen and stomach should be especially cautious.

3. Seafood: Certain seafood such as shrimp and crab contain high levels of protein and minerals. When combined with components in water spinach, they may produce substances that are difficult to digest, potentially causing gastrointestinal discomfort.

4. Foods rich in vitamin C: Although vitamin C helps enhance immune function, excessive intake in combination with oxalic acid in water spinach may increase the risk of urinary tract stones. Therefore, it is not recommended to consume large quantities of vitamin C-rich fruits at the same time.
