Introduction
Heatstroke may lead to electrolyte imbalances, thereby affecting gastrointestinal function. It may also directly impair blood circulation and normal gastrointestinal function due to high body temperature, resulting in abnormal symptoms such as dizziness, thirst, headache, weakness in limbs, excessive sweating, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Therefore, it is common for diarrhea and vomiting to occur after heatstroke.

Heatstroke may lead to symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting. The detailed analysis is as follows:

Heatstroke may occur when a person is exposed to a high-temperature environment for an extended period, causing the body's heat production and heat absorption to increase, resulting in impaired heat dissipation and a subsequent rise in body temperature. This can lead to electrolyte imbalances, which in turn affect gastrointestinal function. Additionally, high fever may directly impair blood circulation and normal gastrointestinal function, leading to abnormal symptoms such as dizziness, thirst, headache, weakness in limbs, excessive sweating, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. These manifestations are common clinical symptoms following heatstroke. Therefore, it is evident that diarrhea and vomiting commonly occur after heatstroke.

Once heatstroke occurs, the patient should first be removed from the high-temperature environment and transferred to a cool, well-ventilated area. It is also important to promptly replenish sugar-salt water or diluted salt water to prevent electrolyte imbalances. Under a doctor’s guidance, patients may take certain traditional Chinese medicines with heat-relieving properties to alleviate symptoms. Commonly used medications include Shidi Shui (Ten-Drop Water) and Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui (Agastache Qi Rectifying Liquid).
