Introduction
Simple exercise methods for hip joint pain generally include exercises performed while standing, knee-hugging exercises, and seated exercises. Patients can sit on a chair with both legs apart and repeatedly perform hip and knee flexion movements with the affected limb. In addition, if hip joint pain is severe, patients may take pain-relieving medications under a doctor's guidance, such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, during treatment.

Simple exercise methods for hip joint pain generally include standing exercises, knee-hugging exercises, and seated exercises.

1. Standing Exercises

Hip joint pain may result from involvement of the hip joint or underlying hip diseases. If the pain is not severe, strengthening exercises for the hip joint, muscles, and ligaments can be beneficial. While exercising, stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, extend both arms forward to hold onto a stable support, slowly squat down, then rise back up. Repeat this motion for about 3–5 minutes.

2. Knee-Hugging Exercises

The patient can lie flat on the bed with the lower limbs flexed at the hips and knees. Cross the hands to hug the upper part of the tibia and repeatedly pull upward, combining this movement with hip flexion exercises to increase the range and strength of hip flexion. Perform this exercise three times daily, each session lasting about 5 minutes.

3. Seated Exercises

Seated exercises can also help relieve symptoms of hip joint pain. The patient can sit on a chair with legs apart and repeatedly perform hip and knee flexion movements with the affected limb.

In addition, if hip joint pain is severe, pain-relieving medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules may be taken under a doctor’s guidance. During treatment, patients should avoid intense physical activities and strenuous exercise.
