Introduction
Dull pain in the middle of the chest at night may be caused by muscle strain, intercostal neuralgia, myocarditis, or other reasons, and can be improved through general treatments or medication. Besides these causes, it could also result from coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and similar conditions. During illness, avoid excessive fatigue and ensure adequate sleep to promote recovery.

Dull pain in the middle of the chest at night may be caused by muscle strain, intercostal neuralgia, myocarditis, or other reasons. Symptoms can be improved through general treatments or medications. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Muscle Strain

Muscle strain may cause local muscle spasms, leading to muscle tension and pain. This can be relieved through massage, heat application, and similar methods.

2. Intercostal Neuralgia

Intercostal neuralgia occurs when inflammatory secretions release mediators that irritate local nerves and muscles, causing symptoms such as swelling, pain, and stabbing sensations. Patients may take medications such as enteric-coated aspirin tablets or acyclovir tablets under medical guidance.

3. Myocarditis

Myocarditis can easily damage heart muscle, reduce myocardial contractility, and impair blood supply, possibly leading to symptoms such as chest pain or tightness. Patients may take medications such as amiodarone hydrochloride tablets or furosemide tablets under medical supervision.

Besides the above causes, chest pain may also result from pleuritis, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and other conditions. Proper care is essential during illness—avoid excessive fatigue and ensure adequate sleep to promote recovery.
