Introduction
Colposcopy involves the patient lying flat on the examination table with the external genitalia exposed and locally disinfected. The vagina is then dilated, and the area is examined using a colposcope. If any abnormalities are detected, tissue samples are collected for biopsy. If this examination is needed, it is recommended to go to a正规 hospital and undergo the procedure under the guidance of a qualified physician to ensure accurate results. In case of heavy vaginal bleeding after the examination, prompt medical attention is required.

Under normal circumstances, during a colposcopy, the patient lies flat on the examination table with the external genitalia exposed. After local disinfection, the vagina is opened and examined using a colposcope. If any abnormalities are detected, tissue samples are collected for biopsy. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. The patient empties the bladder and assumes the lithotomy position on the examination table. Routine disinfection of the external genitalia and vagina is performed.

2. A speculum is inserted into the vagina to expose the cervix, followed by routine disinfection of the vaginal and cervical areas.

3. A cotton swab is used to gently wipe away cervical secretions and mucus. The cervix is then visually examined for its shape, size, color, and other characteristics.

4. The colposcope's objective lens is positioned 15–20 cm from the vaginal opening, aligned with the cervix or the area of suspected abnormality, and the area is observed under 40x magnification.

5. A cotton ball soaked in 3%–5% acetic acid is applied to the cervical surface to observe color changes and identify suspicious lesions.

6. Abnormal tissues are sampled, properly prepared as specimens, and sent for pathological examination.

If this examination is needed, it is recommended to visit a正规 hospital and undergo the procedure under the guidance of a qualified physician to ensure accurate results. If heavy vaginal bleeding occurs after the examination, prompt medical attention is required to avoid delays in diagnosis and treatment.
