Dr. Guan Yanlei
Hydrocephalus and cerebral atrophy are treated through surgical procedures, medications, and other methods. The main treatment for cerebral atrophy and hydrocephalus is symptomatic management, with symptoms primarily including ataxic gait, progressive cognitive impairment, and urinary and fecal incontinence. If conservative treatment is ineffective, surgery may be considered. Additionally, symptoms can be alleviated through ventriculoperitoneal shunting or lumbar cistern drainage, along with appropriate medication under medical supervision.
