Alcohol consumption may interfere with the vaccine’s efficacy; therefore, it is not recommended that patients drink alcohol following hepatitis B vaccination.Post-vaccination precautions for patients who have received the hepatitis B vaccine: For three days after vaccination, patients should avoid getting the injection site wet during bathing and refrain from strenuous physical activity.

Additionally, patients should maintain adequate immunity by getting sufficient rest, avoiding staying up late or overexertion—thus supporting optimal immune response. Within one week post-vaccination, patients should follow a light diet and avoid alcohol, spicy or greasy foods, strong tea, and strong coffee. One week after vaccination, patients should undergo retesting of the “hepatitis B serological panel” (HBsAg, anti-HBs, and anti-HBc) to assess whether hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) is present and determine its titer. If anti-HBs remains negative upon retesting, patients may require a second and third dose of the hepatitis B vaccine to promote anti-HBs production. Generally, an anti-HBs titer above 10 IU/mL indicates protective immunity against hepatitis B.

If patients experience such conditions, they should maintain a light diet and avoid staying up late. We hope this article has been helpful. Wishing you good health and happiness!
