Taking Isatis root prophylactically may also impose an unnecessary burden on the gastrointestinal system. Patients experiencing persistent high fever, coughing with wheezing or chest tightness should seek timely medical attention and receive standardized diagnosis and treatment.

Individuals with mild H1N1 influenza and normal immune function may recover spontaneously without medication, relying on their own immune system. However, elderly individuals, children, and patients with underlying medical conditions face a higher risk of progression to severe disease and should not rely solely on spontaneous recovery. Prompt medical evaluation and treatment are required if high fever persists for more than three days or if symptoms such as chest tightness and shortness of breath occur.

Patients with influenza A do not necessarily need to take oseltamivir. This medication is a prescription antiviral drug suitable primarily for high-risk individuals and for use early in the course of illness.
