Is anteverted uterus better or retroverted uterus better?

During my premarital examination, I was found to have a retroverted uterus. I know there is also the term “anteverted uterus.” Which is better—the anteverted or retroverted position?

Anteverted and retroverted uteri are both normal uterine positions. Most women have an anteverted uterus, which is relatively more favorable, as it is associated with a higher chance of conception. In contrast, some women with a retroverted uterus may have accompanying conditions such as tubo-ovarian adhesions, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, or adenomyosis; some may even experience dyspareunia or discomfort during intercourse. If a retroverted uterus occurs without any associated pathology, it generally does not require concern. However, if underlying diseases are present, appropriate treatment should be pursued.
